MINI-GRANT APPLICATION
FOR SPRING/FALL 2012
The Ventura County Arts Council Arts-in-the-Classroom Mini-Grant Program was established
to provide a source of support for the elementary schools to partner with local arts
organizations and artists to bring standards based arts into classroom.

GRANT FOR PROFESSIONAL
VENTURA COUNTY ARTISTS
WILL HONOR THE LEGACY OF
LEADING COUNTY ARTISTS OF THE PAST
|
This groundbreaking grants program, conceived by the artists for whom it is named, will be the first grant of
its kind intended for Ventura County exhibiting artists. To this point, grants for individual artists have
been limited to scholarships for advanced study awarded to outstanding visual arts students.
Tax deductible donations in any amount
may be made to the grant fund. Checks should be made payable to the Ventura County Arts Council, with
memo notation: Koch & Milton Grants Fund.

Art Stars Awards
|
The Art Stars Aawards is an annual county-wide event to recognize arts friendly civic organizations,
businesses, governments, local philanthropists, nonprofits, educators
and community artists.
The 2011 Art stars Event resulted in a wonderful celebration of the arts in Ventura County.

PROVIDENCE SCHOOL GRANT
The Ventura County Arts Council received a grant from the California Arts Council to
develop an educational arts component at the County’s Juvenile Detention
facility high school.

VENTURA COUNTY’S TEN-DAY
ARTS WEEK 2012 CELEBRATION
SPOTLIGHTING CULTURAL EVENTS COUNTYWIDE
VCAC coordinates and promotes a countywide Arts Week celebration that coincides with
California Arts Day. Artists and arts organizations are encouraged to schedule
activities
during this ten day "week".

POETRY OUT LOUD
Student Recitation Competition
Poetry Out Loud is a national
recitation program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, in which high
school students present an oral interpretation of a
published poem in a national competition. In California,
the program is sponsored by the California Arts Council. California Poets in the Schools is working with the
Ventura County Arts Council to administer it in Ventura County. Poets are available to assist English teachers
and their students in preparing for the countywide competition.
